Engage In Impactful Training

We believe in impactful training – training that drives thought, conversation, behavior, and culture change.  We believe customized live training which uses case-studies from real-life situations – in which the participants are put in the shoes of various parties – is the key to engagement, and that engagement is what yields true learning and growth.

These goals lead to better performance, less turnover, increased morale, and greater organizational achievement.  With proper training, organizations experience less headache, and less time and money spent managing employee problems.

This is the modern, post-pandemic, Gen Z-joining workplace.  We believe live training can help create the culture and effect the change that you want, so that your staff is best equipped to achieve their potential.

While we customize our trainings for every organization, below are some examples of our most popular categories of programs.

Respectful Workplace: Considering Appropriate Workplace Behaviors

The EEOC has said, "A strong training program is a critical piece of a holistic harassment prevention effort. We know that workplace incivility often acts as a 'gateway drug' to workplace harassment.”  We agree! And so do our clients, who want to demonstrate to regulators that they take training seriously.

We approach preventative training through a broad lens, centered around the notion of “respect,” understanding what behaviors are inappropriate and why they may be perceived as offensive even if not intended as such, and how managers and employees can impact the overall workplace culture by being mindful of their own behavior and attuned to that of others.  In all trainings, we use case studies and real-life examples customized for your workplace. Participants review both the organization's policies and legal obligations with respect to preventing discrimination, harassment, bullying, and retaliation, the process for raising concerns, and how coworkers can intervene to support a respectful work environment.

Some organizations train their employees and managers once a year or less frequently than that; others commit to more regular education to elevate the conversation and push towards change.   For clients who want more in-depth exploration, we offer training to frame awareness and techniques to enhance workplace diversity.  These trainings may consider how micro-aggressions, micro-inequities and unconscious bias can undermine a sense of equity and inclusion.  Our goal is to facilitate broad understanding in efforts of creating a more effective, successful, and respectful workplace.

Of course, we also cover the basics - several states and localities mandate anti-harassment or anti-discrimination training, and our trainings are legally compliant with those mandates.

Managerial & Executive Training

We teach your leaders best practices to strategically manage the employee life cycle within organizations and foster a successful workplace. Being a great manager is not intuitive or easy, and sometimes employees are promoted because they excel at their role, without regard to their skills in communicating, managing, and leading employees.

We train managers about the roles and responsibilities of being a leader, not just a boss, including when and how to effectively deliver performance feedback, how to receive an employee complaint, the elements of “effective” communication, and the impact of varying communication styles on productivity and performance.

Upskilling Human Resources Professionals

We provide HR professionals with the tools they need to achieve legal compliance and effectively advise managers on sensitive matters.  The expectations of HR professionals continue to increase – and the more education and guidance these individuals have, the broader and more sophisticated their expertise will be. We have worked as Employee Relations professionals and have worked with HR professionals in all facets of employee relations work and at all levels of organizations.  We can focus on interviewing, hiring, and onboarding; on performance feedback; or on the critical role of conducting internal investigations – and know how to train them to succeed.

Improving Communication & Managing Conflict

Clear communication (or lack thereof) is at the crux of so many workplace issues.  We use assessment tools and role-play to equip your workforce with more effective strategies for engaging with each other.  From performance feedback to complaint intake to compensation communications, we work with managers, employees and entire teams to provide strategies and tools to create more effective, respectful and impactful workplace communications.

Individual Coaching

We offer individualized coaching sessions between the instructor and an individual to provide the participant with a deeper understanding of workplace issues relating to harassment, discrimination, diversity, equity and inclusion, communication and/or working styles.  These sessions are designed for executives, leaders and other employees who have exhibited concerning behavior, but have interest and capacity to learn and improve.  While these sessions are highly customized based on the recipient’s need, our coaching generally focuses on understanding the impact of the employee’s behavior on colleagues and the workplace, including communication and performance feedback skills, and in some cases, the importance of embracing the change recommended by the organization.  Coaching may be scheduled as a single session, of varying durations, or as multiple sessions, each ranging from one to two hours in duration.
